One bend, one size, one clean line of light
Seven empty silicone profiles that turn an LED strip into a continuous glow, from a 12 mm furniture groove to a 50 mm facade outline.
Choose by how the line turns, not by catalogue order
A short guide to seven sizes
A bare LED strip shows every diode. Inside silicone, the dots blend into one even line. The decisions that remain are practical: how big the groove is, which way the run bends, and how far away people will stand when they see it.
Nucleo supplies seven profiles to answer those. Five are top bending rectangles from 12×12 mm to 50×25 mm. One is a 12×20 mm side bending profile for curves drawn on a floor plan. One is the 22R round profile that glows in every direction.
These are empty profiles. The channel is ready for your own strip, so colour temperature, density and control stay in your hands.
Three questions settle it
How large is the groove? How far away is the line viewed from? Does the run curve up and down, or left and right? Answer these and the profile is usually obvious.
What the profiles give you
Eight reasons designers specify them
- 01
Empty channel, your strip
The silicone is a clean channel. Pick the strip colour, density and control that suits the job.
- 02
Seamless diffusion
Dots dissolve into one continuous line of light instead of a row of points.
- 03
Top and side bending
Five profiles bend up and down, one bends left and right, matching how the run actually turns.
- 04
360° round option
The 22R round section glows from every angle with no dark side.
- 05
Seven sizes
From 12x12 mm furniture grooves to 50x25 mm facade lines, one family covers the project.
- 06
Flexible silicone body
Follows curves, wraps columns and traces letter outlines without joints.
- 07
Cuts to length on site
Trim to size with a blade and finish the ends with caps or sealing.
- 08
Weather-resistant body
Larger sizes are used on exterior perimeters when paired with a suitably rated strip.
The seven sizes at a glance
Dimensions, bend direction and best use
| Profile | Bends | Best for |
|---|---|---|
| 12 × 12 mm | Top | Fine grooves, close range |
| 16 × 16 mm | Top | Residential and general use |
| 20 × 14 mm | Top | Shallow reveals, wide band |
| 30 × 20 mm | Top | Hotels and commercial coves |
| 50 × 25 mm | Top | Facades and large features |
| 12 × 20 mm | Side | Tight horizontal curves |
| 22R round | Any axis, 360° | Columns, letters, pendants |
Light seen from every side
A rectangular profile lights one face. The 22R round profile lights its whole surface, so a wrapped column or a letter outline reads as a glowing object rather than a lit panel.
Where each size earns its place
Matching profile to project
- 01
Ceiling coves
16x16 or 20x14 in plastered channels.
- 02
Staircase edges
12x12 or 16x16 along treads and risers.
- 03

22R round for an all-round glow.
- 04
Facade outlines
30x20 or 50x25 along parapets and edges.
- 05
Furniture grooves
12x12 in slim cabinet and shelf channels.
- 06
Signage letters
22R round for full-outline glow.
- 07
Curved counters
12x20 side bending for plan-view curves.
- 08
Hotel corridors
30x20 for long runs seen at distance.
- 09
Retail shelf edges
20x14 for a broad, shallow band.
Before you order
Check that the strip width fits the channel, plan end caps or sealing for every cut end, and test the strip in a short length of profile first. Our team can confirm fit on request.
Frequently asked questions
Selection and installation, answered
No. These are empty silicone profiles. The channel is built to take your own LED strip, so you choose the colour temperature, density and control system. Match the strip width to the channel of the size you pick.
Top bending profiles flex up and down, which suits ceiling coves, wall undulations and vertical curves. The 12x20 mm side bending profile flexes left and right in plan view, which suits curved counters, arches and tight horizontal curves.
Start with the groove or channel you have to fit, then think about viewing distance. 12x12 and 16x16 suit tight grooves seen up close. 20x14 and 30x20 suit coves and corridors. 50x25 suits facades and large feature lines.
Use it when the line is seen from every side: column wraps, hanging features, letter outlines and freestanding decor. The round section emits a 360 degree glow, so there is no darker side.
The silicone body is flexible and weather resistant, and the larger sizes are often used on facades and exterior perimeters. The strip inside must be rated for the exposure, and every cut end must be sealed properly.
Cut the silicone square to length with a sharp blade, feed in the LED strip, and fit an end cap or seal the end so dust and moisture stay out. Keep bends in the profile's natural direction and avoid kinking.
The silicone diffuses the strip into an even line. A high-density strip and a profile with enough depth give the smoothest result. Test the strip in a short length of profile before ordering for the full run.
