Light a wall above and below one hidden line

The NLP-5015 is a surface-mount aluminium profile that splits a single LED strip into an upward and a downward wash, so a plain wall gains a soft graded band of light.

  • 50 × 17 mm body
  • Up + down emission
  • Surface mount
  • White or black finish

Why this profile

Give a flat wall a gradient, not a hotspot

Most wall lights add a point of brightness. The NLP-5015 adds a gradient. Fixed at any height, it releases light above and below its own centre line, so the wall fades from a bright band into soft shadow in both directions. Paint, texture and material all pick up the effect and the wall gains visual depth without any change to its surface.

The LED strip sits inside the aluminium body and two white PC diffusers close the openings. Because the body is only 17 mm deep, it stays close to the wall, which suits rooms that need atmosphere but have no ceiling to recess into.

Split emission from a single channel

One strip channel feeds two angled openings. Half of the light travels up the wall and half travels down, so a single run of strip does the work of two separate fittings and keeps wiring simple.

Choose the finish that suits the wall

White powder coat blends into light walls so only the glow reads. Black powder coat draws a crisp graphic line on pale walls, or disappears into dark feature walls. Both use white PC diffusers.

Features

What the NLP-5015 gives a project

Symmetrical wash

Light spreads evenly above and below, giving a balanced glow rather than a hot spot.

Glare-free view

The strip is recessed behind PC diffusers, so people see light on the wall and not individual LED dots.

Slim 17 mm depth

Sits close to the wall and clears most skirting, headboard and furniture lines.

No wall cutting

Screw or clip it to the surface. No chasing, plastering or false ceiling work is needed.

Any orientation

Run it horizontally, vertically, or as a framed rectangle on a feature panel.

Strip freedom

Accepts warm white, tunable white and RGBWW strips, so one profile suits static and scene-based rooms.

Two finishes

White or black powder coat to match or contrast with the wall colour.

Aluminium body

A rigid extrusion that stays straight along the run and carries heat away from the strip.

Fix after paint. Light after handover.

Fix the body, lay the strip, clip on both diffusers. Nothing is recessed, so the profile can be added after paint, after furniture and even after handover, which makes it a practical upgrade where opening up walls is not an option.

Applications

Where designers place it

Continuous wall lines that guide movement through hotels and offices.

Restaurants and cafés

Warm wall bands that create intimate seating zones.

Reception areas

A clean architectural line behind the desk or along a waiting wall.

Retail walls

Back-wall and shelf-zone lighting for boutiques and showrooms.

Columns and niches

Vertical runs that frame a panel, pillar or alcove.

FAQ

Installation and specification questions

The NLP-5015 has a single central strip channel with two angled openings, one facing up and one facing down. Each opening carries a white PC diffuser, so the light from one strip becomes an upward and a downward wash.

A flat, solid wall is ideal. The profile is screwed or clipped to the surface, so plaster, putty, paint, wood panelling, laminate and tile can all work if the fixing points are secure and the wall is reasonably even along the run.

No. It is a surface-mount profile that sits 17 mm proud of the wall, so no chasing, plaster-in work or false ceiling is needed. This suits finished rooms and renovations.

Plan the strip feed at one end of the run and take the cable behind furniture, into wall conduit or into a nearby cabinet. Keep the driver in an accessible, ventilated place such as a ceiling void, wardrobe or service panel, never inside the profile.

Warm white between 2700K and 3000K is the usual choice for bedrooms and hotel rooms because it flatters paint, wood and fabric. Tunable white strips let the same wall shift from warm evening light to a cooler daytime tone.

Yes. Horizontal runs stretch a room visually, while vertical runs frame a panel, column or alcove. Several lengths can also form a rectangle around a feature panel.

The profile is the aluminium body with its diffusers. Choose the strip separately to match the colour temperature and control needs of the room, and confirm it fits the channel before ordering.

Pick white when you want only the glow to be seen against a light wall. Pick black for a deliberate graphic line on pale walls, or to make the body vanish on dark feature walls.
