A black PVC jacket wraps the same PMMA end-glow core used indoors, so the fiber can be pulled through conduit, embedded in screed, or routed outdoors and into wet zones without damage — while still glowing at a single clean point.
Bare PMMA fiber performs well indoors, but any route that involves conduit pulls, plaster embedding, foot traffic or outdoor exposure will damage an unprotected strand over time. The Nucleo NL-EOF series wraps the same optical-grade PMMA core in a black PVC jacket sized to each diameter — the strand still ends in a bright single point once stripped back at the fixture location, but the run itself is now abrasion, moisture and handling resistant.
The jacket doesn't change how the fiber glows — it changes where the cable can safely go.
