Fiber Optic Star Ceiling Kits India | Pre-Cut, Ready to Install | Nucleo
Nucleo · Pan-India

Every Fiber Pre-Cut, Every Part Matched — Just Drill and Thread

A Nucleo fiber optic star ceiling kit removes the guesswork: the fiber count, the fiber lengths, and the light engine all arrive pre-matched in one box. No calculations, no separate sourcing, no compatibility risk.

The Kit Approach to Fiber Optic Ceilings

Fiber optic ceilings have a reputation for being a specialist job — sourcing loose fiber by the metre, matching it to the right engine wattage, figuring out port sizes. A Nucleo kit skips all of that. The fiber count, the fiber length, and the engine are pre-selected as a matched set, so the only decisions left are where the stars go and how bright you want them.

Each kit is built around the same core idea: fiber strands carry light, they don't carry current. The only powered component is the light engine, which sits away from the ceiling surface entirely. That single design fact is what makes fiber optic ceilings viable in places wiring-based lighting can't easily go — upholstered panels, low-clearance voids, and rooms where heat at the surface is a concern.

Why Buy a Kit Instead of Loose Fiber

Loose fiber and a separately-sourced engine leave the port size, wattage, and fiber count matching entirely up to the installer. A kit removes that risk — the engine's 20mm port, its 18W output, and the fiber count are pre-matched by Nucleo, so the system is guaranteed to work as a set straight out of the box.

Two Standard Configurations

Both kits share the same 18W RGBW twinkling engine, RF remote, and 3-metre fiber lengths. The difference is in how the fiber points are distributed.

Why the 300-Point Kit Looks More Natural

Real night skies aren't uniform — a handful of bright stars stand out against a field of faint ones. Mixing 0.75mm, 1mm and 1.5mm fibers in fixed proportions (60% / 30% / 10%) reproduces that magnitude spread, which is why the 300-point kit tends to look less "artificial grid" and more like an actual sky than a single-diameter field.

Shooting Star & Twinkling Add-On

Both kits use an engine with built-in twinkling as standard. An upgraded engine variant adds a motorised shooting-star mechanism — random streaks travel across the fiber field on their own, with no external controller, DMX, or programming required. This is specified at order time on either standard kit or on a custom build.

Kit Highlights

🧵

Pre-Cut, Pre-Matched

Fiber count, fiber length, and engine wattage are matched at the factory — no separate calculations needed.

🎨

18W RGBW Twinkling Engine

16M colour mixing plus warm white, cool white and colour scenes, with twinkling built in as standard.

🌠

Shooting Star Option

Motorised streak effect available as an add-on — automatic, no controller or programming required.

🛡️

No Current at the Ceiling

Only light travels through the fiber strands. The single powered component — the engine — sits off the surface.

📡

RF Remote Included

Colour, brightness and effect selection out of the box — no app pairing required to get started.

🔧

Fully Custom Builds

Point counts from ~100 to 2000+, lengths from 1m to 12m, and any fiber diameter mix on request.

🏗️

Dual-Port Engines

Custom builds can specify two independently controlled zones from a single dual-port engine.

🕐

1-Year Engine Warranty

Fiber strands have no moving parts and no wear mechanism — the engine carries the standard warranty.

Custom Kits, Built to Your Ceiling

Standard 200 and 300-point kits cover most rooms, but larger cinema rooms, hotel suite programmes, and oversized ceilings often need a different spec. Nucleo builds custom kits with any point count, fiber length, diameter mix, and engine configuration — including single colour, tunable CCT, RGBW, DMX, and dual-port variants for multi-zone control. Multi-unit orders for hotel or resort projects are supplied with matched, consistent specification across every room.

Installing the Kit

No licensed electrical work is required for the fiber side of the installation — only the engine's AC connection needs a standard wall socket, and an electrician is only needed if that cable has to be concealed inside a wall or void.

  1. Plan the layout — mark star positions on the ceiling panel or drywall; irregular spacing looks more natural than an even grid.
  2. Drill the holes — one per point, using the drill size matched to each fiber diameter.
  3. Thread the fibers — push each strand through from above, leaving a small stub on the visible side.
  4. Bundle into the engine — gather all fiber ends and insert into the 20mm input port, securing with the locking collar.
  5. Power up and trim — connect the engine, then trim the protruding stubs flush with the ceiling.

Frequently Asked Questions

What comes inside a Nucleo fiber optic star ceiling kit?+

Every kit ships with pre-cut PMMA fiber strands (3m length, 200 or 300 points depending on kit), the 18W RGBW twinkling light engine, an RF remote, a power cable, and a step-by-step installation guide. Nothing else needs to be sourced separately.

Should I choose the 200-point kit or the 300-point mixed kit?+

The 200-point kit uses uniform 1mm fiber for an even, consistent star field — suited to clean, minimal ceilings. The 300-point kit mixes 0.75mm, 1mm and 1.5mm fibers so star brightness varies naturally, which reads closer to a real night sky. Larger or denser ceilings generally suit the 300-point kit.

How does the shooting star effect work?+

The shooting star option replaces the standard engine with one that has a built-in motorised effect mechanism. It creates random twinkling plus periodic streaking shooting-star events across the fiber field automatically — no external controller, DMX, or programming needed. It can be added to either standard kit or specified on a custom build.

Can Nucleo build a kit outside the two standard sizes?+

Yes. Custom kits can be built to any point count from around 100 to 2000+, any fiber length from 1m to 12m, any mix of fiber diameters, and any engine type — single colour, tunable CCT, RGBW, DMX, or dual-port for two independently controlled zones. Share ceiling dimensions and the desired point count for a custom quote.

Do I need an electrician to install a fiber optic ceiling?+

No licensed electrical work is required for the fiber side — it's a drill, the fiber strands, and the engine's input port. The engine itself plugs into a standard AC socket. An electrician is only needed if the power cable has to be concealed inside a wall or ceiling void ahead of installation.

Is a fiber optic ceiling safe for a child's bedroom?+

Yes. No electrical current or heat travels through the fiber strands themselves — only light. The only powered component is the engine, located away from the ceiling surface. This makes fiber optic ceilings a common choice for children's rooms, upholstered panels, and other applications where heat or exposed current at the surface is a concern.

How much ceiling area does one kit cover?+

At a comfortable star density, the 200-point kit covers roughly 6–9 sq.m. and the 300-point kit covers roughly 9–14 sq.m. Larger rooms or a denser star field are better served by a custom point count, calculated against the exact ceiling area.
