Installation Guide
⬇️ Recessed Ceiling Installation
- Mark the linear run on the ceiling using a chalk line. Verify the run is perfectly level — any deviation is immediately visible in the finished light line.
- Cut the plasterboard slot to the module width dimension specified on the Skyline data sheet (typically 35mm or 50mm wide, 25mm deep). Use a plunge saw with a guide for straight cuts.
- Install the mounting clips at 300mm intervals into the slot, fixing into the ceiling substrate above. Clips accept the module body and lock it flush with the plasterboard surface.
- Feed module-to-module connecting cables through the ceiling void between each module position. Connect end-to-end electrical connectors (tool-free push-in) before pushing modules into the mounting clips.
- Connect the run's power feed to the LED driver. Size the driver at 120% of total module wattage (e.g., 15W/m × 6m = 90W load → 108W driver minimum). Connect dimming control wiring per driver type (TRIAC/0-10V/DALI).
- Click modules into mounting clips. Fit end caps and corner connector accessories. Restore ceiling at module edges with fine filler. Power on and commission dimmer — verify uniform brightness across the full run.
🪢 Suspended / Pendant Installation
- Mark ceiling anchor points at 600mm intervals along the run. Use a laser level to ensure anchor points are at exactly the same height — any variation causes the pendant to hang visibly off-level.
- Install M6 or M8 threaded anchors (Rawlbolts for concrete, toggle fixings for hollow slab). These must be rated for 5× the module weight — Skyline pendant modules weigh approximately 1.2kg/m.
- Attach suspension wire or rod to each anchor. Adjust suspension height using the wire grippers or rod adjusters supplied — all units to the same specified AFF (above finished floor) dimension.
- Hang the Skyline modules onto the suspension hardware. Click modules together at the end-to-end connectors — the suspension takes the structural load; the connectors handle electrical continuity only.
- Route the power feed cable along one suspension wire to the ceiling. Connect to the driver in the ceiling void. Ensure the cable has sufficient slack for the suspension drop without tension on the electrical connections.
- Level-check the complete run with a laser level. Adjust individual suspension units as needed. Power on and verify even illumination. Install end caps and cable management covers to complete the installation.
