LED Wardrobe IR Sensors
Motion-Activated Cabinet Lighting — Lights Up the Moment You Open, Turns Off When You Close
What Are LED Wardrobe IR Sensors?
Smart automatic lighting systems designed specifically for enclosed spaces — wardrobes, cabinets, shoe racks, kitchen shelves, and display units. They use infrared or passive infrared technology to detect door opening or human presence and switch on instantly — then switch off automatically, every single time.
How It Works
The intelligence behind motion-activated wardrobe lighting in four simple steps.
Door Opens / Motion Detected
Magnetic door sensor triggers or PIR detects hand/body movement entering the space
IR Signal Processed
Onboard microcontroller reads the infrared signal within milliseconds — virtually instant response
LEDs Illuminate
Full-brightness LED strip or bar activates uniformly — no flicker, no warm-up delay
Auto-Off Timer
Lights switch off when door closes or after 15–60 seconds of inactivity — zero power waste
Sensor Lighting vs. Traditional Bulbs
Why smart IR sensors outperform fixed switch-based wardrobe lighting in every way.
✅ Nucleo IR Sensor Wardrobe Light
- Turns ON automatically when door opens
- Turns OFF automatically — never left on accidentally
- No wiring — installs in under 5 minutes
- Low-voltage DC — completely safe to touch
- Motion or door-trigger options available

⚠️ Traditional Wardrobe Light / Bulb
- Manual on/off — often forgotten, wastes power
- Wiring required — needs electrician
- Bulbs generate heat inside enclosed wardrobes
- Mains voltage — shock risk if wiring degrades
- No auto-off — clothes/fabrics can overheat
- Fixed brightness, usually single-point glare
- Bulb replacement every 1–2 years
- Bulky fittings consume cabinet interior space

Installation Guide
Two installation methods to suit DIY homeowners and professional contractors alike.
📦 Battery / USB Model — DIY Install
- Measure the inner top rail or side panel of the wardrobe/cabinet. Select the correct length LED bar.
- Clean the mounting surface with a dry cloth to remove dust and oils — ensures adhesive bonds properly.
- Peel the 3M adhesive backing and press the LED bar firmly along the top inner edge or front rail. Hold for 30 seconds.
- For door-activated models: attach the small reed switch magnet to the inside of the door frame and the receiver to the cabinet body. Align within 5mm gap.
- Insert batteries or connect USB charging cable. Test the door-open trigger. Adjust timer switch (15s / 30s / 60s) to your preference.
- Close the door and verify lights extinguish automatically. Installation complete — no tools used.
⚡ 12V DC Hardwired — Contractor Install
- Identify the 12V DC LED driver supplying the wardrobe unit (typically mounted in the plinth or top compartment).
- Route the two-core (positive/negative) cable from the driver to each wardrobe compartment requiring sensor lighting. Use channel raceways or route inside the furniture panel.
- Connect the 12V IR sensor module inline between the driver output and the LED strip — observe polarity markings (red = positive).
- Mount the PIR sensor head at the top of each compartment, angling downward at 30° for optimal detection of hand entry.
- Adhere LED strip along the perimeter of each shelf or compartment using aluminium LED channel for diffused output.
- Power on the system at the driver. Test each compartment's trigger response. Adjust PIR sensitivity and timer settings via the module's trim-pot. Secure all cable routes.
💡 Designed for Effortless Living
The best lighting is the lighting you never have to think about. Nucleo's wardrobe IR sensor range is built on a simple philosophy: light should be available exactly when and where you need it — and invisible when you don't. By eliminating the manual switch from the equation entirely, we remove a small friction point from daily life that compounds into real convenience over years of use.
Every Nucleo sensor light is engineered for the specific thermal and mechanical conditions of furniture interiors — where standard lighting products often fail. Our LED modules are rated for enclosed environments, our adhesives are tested to remain bonded on veneered MDF and lacquered wood, and our battery contacts are corrosion-resistant for multi-year service without intervention.
Whether you're outfitting a single bedroom wardrobe or specifying 200 cabinet units for a residential tower, Nucleo delivers consistent quality and Pan India project support.
