It's a T-shaped aluminium channel, plastered into the wall substrate before the finish coat goes on, so the completed wall runs straight down to the floor with nothing standing proud of it — just a slim recess exactly where the board would have gone.

At 13.7mm x 42mm and 157 grams per metre, the section is built to a noticeably heavier gauge than a profile designed for ceiling height, because this particular line takes contact that a ceiling line never will — feet, mop heads, vacuum cleaners, chair legs, every day the room is in use. Left as a bare channel with no diffuser, an LED strip fitted inside produces a sharp, well-defined edge of light along the floor rather than a soft wash.
